MEET OSLO IBRAHIM

Oslo Ibrahim is an Indonesian singer and songwriter with aspirations to be a guitarist. After exploring his role as a guitarist in his rock and roll band in high school, Ibrahim decided to set foot on a different path. He came into the limelight when his first-ever single "Midnight Thoughts" garnered more than 200,000 streams on Spotify alone.

The Indonesian singer recently released "Baby Don't Let Me Go," following his debut album of 2020, "I Only Dance When I'm sad." Unlike the rest of the songs in the album, his single "Baby Don't Let Me Go" does not have a downbeat electro-pop sound.

Oslo Ibrahim describes what the song means in the following words:

"I've spent a lot of years in relationships that didn't work out. Ever since I was 18, my life was all about failed relationships and trying to find the one person who would be by my side at all times. While I terribly failed in my quest to find real love, here I am a 27-year-old who will still give it a shot. The story of this song is also about love and what it tries to depict is that even though he let her go, the impact of that love will not go any time soon."

For the most part, Ibrahim's music revolves around the struggles people face in relationships and love. Even though he incorporates his own experiences into the lyrics of every piece he writes, he tries to put it in a way that resonates with his audience.

With over 250,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Oslo Ibrahim has undoubtedly left a mark on thousands. Moreover, in a world dominated by western artists, Ibrahim makes it a point to stay true to his roots. While most of his music is in English, Ibrahim still stands as one of the most influential Indonesian artists in the world right now.

As he has already taken the world by storm, and he's not going to stop any time soon. One of the most exciting factors about the Indonesian singer apart from his music is that his appearance transcends the definitions of masculine or feminine.

Some days, you will see him rocking a beard and a mustache, while you will see him rocking a vibrant lip color on others. There's no holding back when it comes to experimenting with new looks for his album covers.

Even though Oslo Ibrahim is not the first artist to portray an androgynous appearance for his album covers, it sure isn't common practice in Indonesia's home country. Apart from giving heartfelt messages through his music, the artist is also ahead of several others in the industry.

Currently, the singer only has a few years of work to his name; however, Oslo has done immensely well for someone who started only a few years ago. He has marked his name and place among some of the most popular and influential musicians worldwide.
