Speaking about his first shop in an interview, he talks about how he opened up his first shop in his living room. He explains how he tries to maintain that same vibe in his store today. He describes his store as a 'big living room' where people feel welcome and comfortable to be who they are. He has selected a team of like-minded individuals who love their craft and bring the same positive energy to work. They love their clients and always put them first. It is no wonder that their clients keep coming back to them.

Drew grew up in Country Club Hills with his parents and grandfather. His passion and inspiration to cut hair came from his mother when he watched her cut his hair since his earliest memory. His grandfather was also a barber and had moved to Chicago from Virginia. In seventh grade, he started cutting hair and got his first job at a nearby salon. But it was during college he realized that he wanted to make a career out of haircutting. He was studying Business Management at Olivet Nazarene University. He decided to drop out after a year due to poor grades and went on to join Silk N Classy Barber College in Auburn Gresham. He decided to pursue his dream of cutting hair and hasn't looked back since.

Drew says he is a family man, and everyone who knows him can vouch for that. His wife Alia and daughters Parker and Luca are often seen at the shop while he's away.

Due to his lovable and genuine personality, he gained a massive following on social media and participated in many collaborations. Nike approached him as part of their new campaign representing people who inspire a community. He was asked to design a special edition of the black Nike Airforce 1 Shoe. When asked, Nike's spokesperson Tim Shaw said Drew was a perfect fit as he is committed to developing lasting relationships with his customers.

Drew believes that Chicago has a unique style and has some of the best barbers in the country. Drew lives by his three ultimate goals in life, 'Commitment, respect, and discipline,' which he displays in his everyday life. Drew remains true to himself and is a real inspiration to people who strive to follow their dreams.
