Seductive, dramatic, and intimate; these are the first words to come to mind as you play (and then replay) spill tab's 3-minute debut single 'Decompose.' It is a true musical wonder, with Claire Chicha's deep vocals and David Marinelli's production genius.

Together, they make spill tab – a Gen Z duo ready to change the world of bedroom pop forever. With hypnotic beats composed with an electric guitar's riffs and topped with layered vocals, the future looks bright for spill tab.

Their breakout single 'Calvaire' has enchanted fans across the globe with its dreamy sensibilities, and an R&B hit. You lose yourself to the music entirely as Claire's vocals swirl in and out of focus amidst the dreamy rhythms of the soundscape that is Calvaire.

The Start of spill tab

Having a jazz head father and a classics-only mother, Claire Chicha was raised with varying genres of music at her home, her personal favorite being the pop bangers of Radio Disney. The French-Korean artist worked as an assistant tour manager for Gus Dapperton right out of college but soon left that behind to pursue her own dream.

Thus, a synchronized collaboration with David Marinelli was started. Together, this powerful duo released their debut EP 'Oatmilk' with four singles, each clocking in less than two minutes. Despite the short length, each track is overspilling with creative sparks. They explore different music styles and are uniquely distinct in their own capacity.

Composing in English VS French

Known for composing in French and English, Claire is often questioned about the stark difference between the two.

She clarifies it by mentioning how she feels more comfortable and expressive when singing in English. This is often depicted through her music, with the English songs being more intimate and vulnerable.

On the other hand, she explains how French is a more challenging language for her. It feels somewhat like an alter ego singing when she does it in French. So, she's more inclined to take on an image as a French badass, a rolled cigarette in hand and wearing leather pants.

The future of spill tab

Claire Chicha's soft yet commanding drone is truly unforgettable. Forming the perfect blend of bedroom pop and electronica, this duo is ready to shine a new light on the music industry to prioritize quality over track length. The bilingual composition of Claire Chicha and David Marinelli's tendencies to push the boundaries of genre classification makes for the perfect Gen Z soundtrack. And we can't wait to hear more from this duo!
