Ragz Originale is an up and coming British musician, composer and song writer who has recently amassed a large following. He has managed to make his mark within the music industry and is well known amongst British singers and rappers. Some of his most popular releases include Dissarano Straight, Endless and Proof Read.

While he has become widely known for his professional work, Ragz Originale is a largely private individual who has not revealed a whole lot about his personal life.

Musically, Ragz Originale finds himself at the nexus of R&B, neo soul and gospel music, a scene which has been bubbling for quite some time in the UK. He has a versatile composition and production style and allows for a progressive feel to his music. In an interview, Ragz Originale said that each track he releases has a central emotion that he works through in order to deliver the final song.

All in all Ragz Originale is in search of something musically different and innovative. As an artist his music has become increasingly difficult to nail down into a single genre. He is no stranger to various different genres and is adept at fusing them together to deliver a unique sound. While he has worked on tracks with other artists before, the musician did not seem to come into his own until he released his own original music. In 2015, he worked in the production of a widely celebrated track in the UK, Skepta’s‘ Shutdown’. During this time, Ragz Originale worked a day job at a steel factory and could not profit off his skills as a mere producer.

In an interview with Trench, Ragz Originale admitted that he always felt like an artist even when he was working as a producer. The problem with production, he claimed, is that there is sometimes no one to produce for and one can’t depend on it to put food on the table. Having said that the young artist has production credits for lots of famous artists including Benny Mails and Mini Kingz.

It was in 2018 that Ragz Originale released his debut album by the name of ‘Nature’. By his own admittance, the name of the album comes from the idea that he has always seen his musical abilities as natural. His father was a bass guitar player and he was introduced to music production software FruityLoops at a young age. He was a grime and rap head growing up and learned a lot from the skillful production needed in that genre.

However, as time progressed his musical tastes had vastly expanded by the time he released Nature. This results in a natural fusion of the genres that inspire him, creating cohesive and wholesome soundscapes which support mature and sophisticated songwriting. However, his natural propensity as an innovative artist led to tell the interviewer at Trench that he was ‘not gonna make Nature twice.’ Hence he was completely open to capturing an entirely different audience for his next project.

His latest album ‘Woah’ was released in January of 2021 and certainly expresses a different side to the artist with a shift towards rap and R&B. Ragz Originale has proven himself to be an innovative and creative artist in just a few short years. So be sure to keep an eye out for what this artist has up his sleeve.
