TIANA MAJOR9: READY FOR HER MOMENT

TIANA MAJOR9: READY FOR HER MOMENT

Tiana Major9 is a true jazz fan, as demonstrated by her name. One of her favorite sounds is the major 9th, which musicians will know for the color and intensity it can lend to any moment. The R&B singer-songwriter was born and reared in East London, notably Newham, and her childhood is saturated with music. Tiana composed her recordings with meaningful lyrics that fans could relate to, taking influences from Lauryn Hill, her aunt, and her mother. Her slogan is originality and authenticity, and she inspires all striving black ladies never to give up and be true to themselves.

While other vocalists hoped to be the all-star performers they idolized, Tiana Major9 was preoccupied with learning music alone. Growing up in a Jamaican environment, she fell in love with different music genres, from garage to R&B to reggae. Tiana's safe refuge was the church, where she could practice singing and performing in front of an audience. While her ambitions of joining The BRIT School, a prestigious British performing arts school in London Borough (FKA Twigs, King Krule, and Adele), did not come true, she swiftly adapted. City and Islington Colleges would provide her with the music education she desired, demonstrating that there is no single path to success.

Tiana Major9 rose to prominence after finishing as a finalist in MOBO's UnSung competition in 2014. Her first commercial records, "Mr. Mysterious" and "Merry Go, Levee (Let It Break)," were released in 2018 and 2017, with influences including Jazmine Sullivan, Marsha Ambrosius, and Lauryn Hill. A hectic 2019 began with the release of the Rehearsal @ Nine EP, which included the two singles, and ended with the signing of a Motown contract a few months later.

She released her first EP, "Back at Sixes," in 2020, which stripped her songs to their essence. In an interview, she said she wanted to seem more personal while releasing the album, so she delivered her voice carefully, with dynamic and embellishing runs. On this album, she wanted to showcase her range as a vocalist, artist, and songwriter all in one package. In 2021, Tiana Major9 released her sixteen-son EP "Major Mantras." The album consists of seven of her mantras, including "I Am Proud of Myself," "I Am Strong," "I Won't Worry," "My Glass Is," "My Emotions," and "What's Mine, Won't Miss Me" as well as a few tracks from her previous EP. Each mantra has its visualizer, while the seven mantras mentioned above employ the same effervescent backdrop guitar line as the three mantras featured on At Sixes and Sevens.

Tiana Major9 is an artist to watch in the months and years ahead, with praises from the music business and a promising, bright career already well begun. Tiana Major9 has a voice that evocates, glides, and captures the pain, passion, hope, and love in her lyrics like no other artist can. With her instrumental and songwriting talents, Tiana Major9 is a force to be reckoned with in mainstream jazz music. She is an artist who is unquestionably helping to reintroduce jazz into the mainstream while pushing the boundaries of what pop music sounds like.
